Cercle de Travail Environnement et Durabilité
10h30 - 17h00
Espace DickensEncouraged by the feedback after the Bern 360° Dialogues on Forests in March 2022, the Environment and Sustainability Working Group (ESWG) is organizing a new event around the key topic of “Rethinking and Regrounding Economics”.
The event will take place in-person at Espace Dickens in Lausanne on the 18th of March 2024 from 10:30 to 17:00 around three main thematic blocks: what can foundations do about economics, how to support a community-based economy for the common good, how to improve the impact of the investment strategies of foundations. The event will be followed by drinks.
The organizing committee* is happy to present the following program:
1. Keynote speaker Till Kellerhoff, program director at The Club of Rome and Earth4All project coordinator will delve into one of the most pressing issues of our time: Understanding the Interlinked Ecological, Climate, and Societal Crises: The Role of Economics.
2. We will delve into the regrounding of economies, spotlighting concrete examples of how to ensure that production and services remain within the carrying capacity of our planet. Our special guests will give insights on the unique alliance between the Social and Solidarity Economy Chambers in Suisse Romande (Après-GE & Après-VD) and the Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie movement. Together, they’re advocating for a community-based economy for the common good in Switzerland.
3. In our final session, we will host a panel discussion on rethinking the finance system and exploring what foundations can do with their investments. Guillaume Taylor, co-leader of the SF Finance Working Group, has curated an amazing panel featuring Sofia de Meyer, Karen Wilson, and Aarno Keijzer, who will discuss program-related investments and other promising trends.
