Working Group Corporate Foundations
12h15 - 15h30
MSC Foundation, 12-14 Chemin Rieu, 1208 Geneva / ONLINEFollowing our May workshop hosted by the Z Foundation, we are delighted to be visiting the MSC Foundation in Geneva on October 10. The event there will examine how Foundations deal with administrative and other overhead costs. This topic emerged from a benchmarking exercise by our hosts.
As well as hearing what that benchmarking revealed, we’ll also be sharing our various approaches and discussing important aspects. What do different foundations define as ‘overhead’? Why does yours include A but not B, when mine is the other way round? How far does ‘overhead’ actually ensure the quality and sustainability of our programs? What is our attitude to giving or collecting donations from which a portion is allocated for administrative costs? And, as always, anything else that participants want to debate! You are very welcome to submit questions in advance.
The event is hosted by the MSC Foundation and facilitated by the Corporate Foundations Core Group. It will be both live and online. For those participating in person, the session starts with a light lunch at 12.15. The workshop will start at 13.30 and last till 15.30.
To register, please mail members@swissfoundations.ch by October 5th. Please indicate if you will join us in person or virtually. On-site participation is capped at 20 “first come first serve”. Kindly note that again only one person per foundation should attend on site; further participants from your organization are very welcome online.
Moreover, please consider that to attend the meeting in person at MSC Shipping premises located at 12-14 Chemin Rieu, 1208 Geneva, participants must present a COVID-19 test made less than 48 hours before arrival. The test can be an antigenic test but must be performed by an authorized institution (doctor/hospital/pharmacy, etc.) within the 48h prior to the meeting. Selftests are not considered to be valid.
