Swiss country profile now published – Insights into the Legal Philanthropic Environment in Europe

Within the process of building a legal map of the philanthropic landscape of Europe, the second round of country profiles, including the country profile of Switzerland has now been published.

The mapping project has been established by Philanthropy Advocacy, a joint project by DAFNE and EFC, and aims at providing insights into the legal and fiscal landscape of European philanthropy. Each profile contains information such as requirements for registration, reporting, economic activity, and governance, tax treatment as well as trends and developments. Consequently, this legal map of European philanthropy provides a comparative perspective of legal regulations for a wide audience namely the policy-makers, academia, the philanthropy sector, and philanthropic advisors.

The total 40 country reports have each been written by national philanthropic experts. The authors of the Swiss counrty profile are Prof. Dr. Dominique Jakob (Center for Foundation Law, University of Zurich), Julia Jakob (SwissFoundations) and Renata Trajkova (Center for Foundation Law, University of Zurich).
