New beginning, long history – Laudes Foundation is launched to promote a fair and sustainable economy
The Laudes Foundation is an independent foundation launched to address the dual crises of climate breakdown and inequality that endanger nature and jeopardize the safety and dignity of countless communities around the world.
Laudes Foundation will work through industries to tackle the most pressing and systemic issues, starting with those that, through the family heritage and entrepreneurship, it knows well, fashion and the built environment. And importantly, it will continue to advance the work in fashion developed by C&A Foundation. “Over the past five years, at C&A Foundation, we have learned what is needed to transform a sector. We have built networks and strengthened partnerships to create lasting, positive change in the global fashion industry. And along with our flagship Fashion For Good initiative, we have demonstrated that business and philanthropy can work together to change the status quo in the industry,“ says Leslie Johnston, CEO of Laudes Foundation.
Like C&A Foundation, the new foundation will work collaboratively with partners, sharing knowledge. „Through the Laudes Foundation we will work with companies, shareholders, investors, intellectuals, academics, public policy makers, civil society, the press and social movements to create a new concept of plausible value, with credibility and that brings benefits to humanity,“ says Martijn Brenninkmeijer. Laudes Foundation is a part of the Brenninkmeijer family enterprise, which accumulates the experience of six generations of entrepreneurs and philanthropists.
