Blueprint 2021 – Reflections on New Philanthropic Realities
How are private resources used for public benefit in the digital age? Blueprint by Lucy Bernholz provides each year an overview of the current situation within the world’s non-profit sector. The “2021 industry foreacast” gives some advice to foundations and non-profit actors in order to improve the philanthropic field.
This year, the publication puts philanthropy within the actual pandemic context and prompts to consider 2020 as a turning point towards engagement within institutions and economics. Pointing at specific problems, the author gives her reflexions to better achieve philanthropic goals and take actions for walking the talk.
Blueprint is an encouraging call for philanthropic reform with more flexibility, more collaboration within foundations and public responsibilities, and an inclusive digitalization.
Lucy Bernholz is Senior Research Scholar and Director of the Digital Civil Society Lab, which is part of Stanford University’s Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (PACS).
