Taking the next step in climate action – join the International Philanthropy Commitment on Climate Change!
Are you ready to act for climate? Here is one first step you can all do!
The International Philanthropy Commitment on Climate Change has just been launched and is ready to be signed. Hosted by WINGS, this commitment is a global call to all foundations, regardless of their missions, status or geographic location, to come together and signal their commitment to climate action. Signing the commitment is a first bold step and shows a significant need to act.
Developped in response to the growing climate emergency, which presents an important risk to the pursuit of philanthropic aims, the Commitment is addressed to all type of philanthropic organisations. Philanthropic actors have a relevant role to play regarding the climate crisis. Foundations can indeed have an immense positive impact on climate protection by integrating climate considerations into their own operations and programmes or in their investments and endowments. Climate change is a cross-cutting issue, which affects all sectors of society and creates huge social and transgenerational inequalities, which is why all foundations are called to engage.
With 7 guidelines principles and an easy 4-ways sign-up process, you will join a movement of 250 foundations in France, Spain and UK, who developed and signed national philanthropy commitments.
