Let’s Discuss: Key Learnings From the Lemanic Region and Opportunities for Other Cantons

How can we further strengthen the philanthropy ecosystem? How can we do better, more efficiently? What can other cantons learn from the Lemanic region?

One year after the publication of the Philanthropic Vitality Report launched by Fondation Lombard Odier, SwissFoundations is delighted to organize an exclusive webinar on November 18th from 12:00 to 13:30 to present the key learnings and discuss the opportunities for engagement in Romandie and other cantons.

Switzerland is lucky to benefit from a longstanding philanthropic tradition and effective institutional arrangements to support individuals who aim to contribute to the public good. Nevertheless, the context of philanthropic action has changed in important ways in the last ten years. The challenges associated with health crises, finite natural resources, population growth and climate change have moved to the forefront. Philanthropy continues to be recognized as a force for good, but as all sectors of society, foundations are challenged to demonstrate their added-value and contribute to visible progress and outcomes. What ingredients are necessary for a successful and thriving philanthropic sector? To what extent are they already present in the Swiss cantons of Geneva and Vaud? How can the health of the sector be improved?

Join the discussion on November 18th from 12:00 to 13:30 with Dr Maximilian Martin, Secretary-General, Fondation Lombard Odier ; Prof. Henry Peter, Director, Geneva Centre for Philanthropy and Dr Pascale Vonmont, Director, Gebert Rüf Stiftung, moderated by Aline Freiburghaus, Regional director, SwissFoundations.

Please register here until November 11th, 2020
